Polyana village — the pearl of Zakarpattia’s mineral waters
Polyana, a small village not far from Svaliava in the Zakarpattia region, is one of the oldest balneological resorts in Transcarpathia.
The first patients were treated in Polyana more than 130 years ago, and the first mention of the local healing water deposit dates back to 1463.
The Polyana resort is famous for its mineral waters Polyana Kvasova and Polyana Kupil, which are very similar in composition and healing properties to the waters from the Borjomi Gorge in Georgia. Mineral waters are born in the mountains of Zakarpattia at a depth of 150 metres.
They are successfully used for the prevention and treatment of disorders of the digestive, endocrine and urogenital systems, as well as for the rehabilitation of patients who have recently undergone surgery on the digestive system.
The old Mukacheve-Lviv road passes through Polyana, but interregional bus and transit freight transport is carried out on a new road near Svaliava. As a result, Polyana has become quieter, more environmentally friendly and fully meets the term “resort”.
