The wine cellars in Serednie are the oldest and largest winemaking centre in Zakarpattia.

The 16th-century Serednye wine cellars are one of the most interesting historical heritages that have survived to this day. Located in the village of Serednie, they have served as wine storage facilities since ancient times.

These cellars were built in the 16th century, when Serednye was in its heyday. Back then, there were many winemakers in Serednie who grew grapes on the hills around. To protect their wines from heat and light, they built wine cellars.

Serednye wine cellars have a total area of about 3,000 square metres. They consist of many crypts connected by tunnels. Each cellar has its own entrance and name.

These days, most cellars are used as museums and wine shops. Due to their large area, they can also be used for wine tastings and events.

Visiting the Medieval Wine Cellars is a unique experience that allows everyone to hear the history and see what a medieval wine cellar looks like. If you love wine and history, be sure to visit these cellars on your next trip to Serednye.
